Darts
The USC Darts Section runs from late September until the middle of May and has,
at present, 8 teams from various departments. A team is made up of 4 players with a number of reserves.
All team players must be members, or associate members, of the USC. Matches are played on Friday evenings
on the 3 boards in the downstairs lounge of the USC.
The Section is run on a league basis with teams in each division playing each other twice; they also play teams from the other division twice.
Competitions are also held in the last month of the season including mens and ladies singles, pairs and team knockouts. To finish the season there is a "Finals Night" when final matches are played and trophies awarded.
Currently awarded Trophies include:
- Winner and runner up of the 2 divisions
- Knockout competitions including:
- - Ladybird Trophy in memory of Mike Majerus
- David Crighton Trophy in memory of Head of Maths - Highest score
- Highest shot out
- Highest shot in
Finals night trophies are sponsored by Premiere Products and staff from Premiere will attend to present them. There will also be a raffle and buffet, and for this seasons registered players the entry is free. However, anybody wishing to play/enter a new team next season is welcome to come along but there will be a charge of £3 per person.
